Effective October 1, 1999, the landscape contractor for the Mall area was changed to O'Connell Landscape. O'Connell Landscape now performs the landscape maintenance for the main entry and Mall area. In an effort to streamline communication and better monitor the effectiveness of the Mall area landscape, please direct all concerns, comments or questions to Lisa Klasky at Progressive Community Management. Lisa will issue work orders as needed or ask the Mall Landscape Committee to review the non-urgent requests during their regular monthly inspections.
You will notice that there will be some immediate changes in an effort to rapidly improve the aesthetics of the existing landscape some of which will include: major cut back of plant material in planter beds and on slopes to encourage new, healthy growth; aeration and fertilization of turf areas; and fertilization and mulching of planter beds. O'Connell Landscape is assisting the Mall Landscape Committee to develop a long range plan for the irrigation upgrades and plant maintenance.
You have probably already noticed that O'Connell Landscape will not be utilizing leaf blowers in the Mall area, pursuant to our new environment friendly contract. Instead, vacuums will be used to pick up debris. We hope you are as encouraged as we are with this new change.
