The Bay Banter - August 2000
2000 STREET REPAIR PROJECT
The scope of work for the 2000 Street Repair Project has been finalized and has commenced. The limited areas involved have been marked with barriers and advisory notices. Please see the attached map for more details. The asphalt and concrete overlay will be done on Wednesday August 9th, with the pavement seal and re-striping to be done on Friday August 11th. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.

CONSTRUCTION HOURS
Please remember that construction vehicles are only authorized access into the community between 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays. No construction traffic will be admitted on Sundays or Holidays. On Saturdays, earth moving activity is also prohibited. All contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers must be off the job site prior to 6:00 p.m. We thank you for your cooperation with this policy.

COMMUNITY REMINDERS
You may have noticed that for several weeks, the stop sign near the main entry was missing. The stop sign is believed to have been stolen from this location. If you notice activity such as this in the future, please do your part to report these incidents. Unless we can identify the individuals who cause such losses, the costs are borne equally by all of us. The sign has now been replaced; however, if you happen to know the whereabouts of the original sign, please return it to the guardhouse, no questions asked.

We have received reports of an increased population of pests and native animals (specifically rabbits and ground squirrels) in our community this year. A pest control program is not feasible for the Association to implement in any areas other than the common area entry, therefore, it is up to each owner to determine if they wish to implement a pest control program to protect their own property. Exclusionary measures is an option for your property as a method of pest control. If you wish to consider programs for your own home you may wish to contact the expert contractor that provides these services to the Association, Animal Pest Management at (800) 344-6567.

For the courtesy of your neighbors, please have your guests and visitors park in front of your home when they visit, rather than parking in front of your neighbors homes.

Your cooperation in removing vehicles from the street on Fridays allows the street sweepers to be more effective in cleaning up our community for the weekends.

Please remember, for the safety of everyone, under-aged, un-licensed drivers are not permitted to be driving golf carts on Monarch Bay streets.

Parents, please remind your children that the gatehouse is not a gathering place. When the guards are on-duty, their attention needs to be focused on community access. This is not only a concern for the guard's focus, but due to this being a high traffic area it becomes a safety concern for all.
